Another HalloWIN

The past week or so has been absolutely fantastic! October is probably my 3rd favorite month of the year. I feel like something fun as happened every day!

Last week....
Monday - pumpkin walk

Alexa and I went on a roommate date to the pumpkin walk. Logan rule: never miss the pumpkin walk! It never disappoints. My favorite scenes this year were from Hunger Games and Just Dance.

Tuesday - Kim's birthday

My roommate Kim turned 20! It was also the first snow day of the year, so we began our celebration with some hot chocolate at Starbucks...
...then dressed up for skate night at the fun center! Such great times!
Kim wished pretty hard on her pretty birthday cake! I am so glad she was born. She's the best!

Wednesday - pie night
Lauren, Aubree L, and Brianna joined me for some free pie at Village Inn. It's the best break after work Wednesday night when I don't want to go home for homework! Especially when I go with hilarious people.

Thursday - dinner and a show

On Thursday I had to drive down to good old Ltown for my mission doctors appointments.
That awkward moment when everyone else in the waiting
room is also holding mission papers. #askthemissionaries

That wasn't the funnest time of my life but with great friends I can make a trip to Layton worthwhile. Mallory very generously drove to Layton to go to a movie with me and Aubree. Loved it. One of those rare moments when I like the movie just as much as the book. Probably because the author wrote the screenplay, so all was exactly as it should be. We had dinner at Red Robin and talked about Mal's mission call to Texas! I am soooo proud of her!

 Friday - basketball opening night!

I am in this picture somewhere. I love Utah State because we completely FREAK out over an exhibition game against Grand Canyon...who has even heard of them. 76-44. So happy that basketball season has officially begun! basketball > football

Saturday -Pumpkins, fried ice cream, and The Howl

I had to drive home AGAIN so that the doctor could take literally 15 seconds to tell me that...in a shocking turn of events.... I don't have tuberculosis. But it turned out to be worth the drive because when I got home the fam was headed to the pumpkin patch! We took this cute little hay ride to pick our pumpkins. The woman in charge at the farm told us it would be "funner than Lagoon." Depends how you look at it I guess.

Back in Logan, Alexa, Aubree and I headed to Cafe Sabor for their free fried ice cream deal. I have to say that my heart will always have a bias towards Pepperbellys' fried ice cream, but it was still good. Then it as time to get ready to Howl it up!

We danced, saw a male contortionist, got tattooed, and watched people we know get hypnotized. Some of us even held tarantulas and scorpions. I have to say that I prefer the Howl to have a live concert...but still fun.

Sunday - leaf crunching

Do you know how many leaves there are in the Logan cemetery right now? A lot.

And this week...
Back to skate night!

Let's talk about how Kim, Cody and I all won free skating for next time at the Halloween skate night. Yeahhh! So much fun.

Finally...ACTUAL HALLOWEEN!

I wasn't completely sold on going home for Halloween night, what with all the back and forth I've been doing for doctors' appointments. But then I realized...the next time I'll be able to have Halloween with my family will be three years from now. My mom cooks more for Halloween than she does for Christmas. This is not an exaggeration. She decorates the house and the yard and makes a Halloween feast. Halloween is a family favorite. Had to be there!

Janie: karate kid; me: peacock; Hannah: evil queen; Abbie: Tippi Hedrin from The Birds; Marian (our favorite cousin-once-removed): strawberry; Rachel and Lauren: loofahs

Let's talk about how great my sisters are. Rachel and Lauren dressed up like loofahs and turned the car into Justin Bieber's bathtub. Who does that?

We took my youngest sisters and my cousin's two little girls trick-or-treating. Since it was warm they lasted much longer than usual! Rachel and I opted to skooter around in our tutus.

Trick-or-Treat!
My favorite part of Halloween was how hard Rachel and I were laughing while the kids sorted their candy. My sisters really are my very best friends. What a perfect Halloween night!
